Orphanege In Myanmar
Hello all,
Last year I traveled Myanmar for the 28 days Visa you get.
Anyone who has ever traveled Myanmar knows that they are the most lovely and worm people you meet in Asia.
On our travels we came upon a small beautiful town Called Pyn Oo Lwin walking the streets and the small market we found a place called St. Matthew's Orphanage Center and decided to drop in and see whats going on there.. we entered a courtyard packed with kids from all sizes and ages who immediately stopped all they were doing and gazed at us with a tinge of a smile on their faces.. when we were approached by a small boy, asking for our names in in broken English, which then grabbed me by the hand and dragged me across the yard to the office.
There we sat down for an hour, chatting with the lovely wife of the Reverend who is in charge and three young man about our age (24) which take care of the kids and teach them basic English, Math and anything they can...
we ended up in a classroom with 20 kids teaching English.
Today Im still in touch with the Reverend who is asking for help of any kind, 6 months ago we sent some basic English books which got through . . .
They can use any kind of help Even if its just one lesson, just to cheer up the kids.
I know there isn't enough time to see Myanmar in 28 days and stopping in a small town my look like a waste, but Myanmar is All about the people,
So on your way... stop in Pyn Oo Lwin even just for a day....
