טרק לא מוכר שההליכה בו מקנה תחושה של טבע מתפרץ ומקנה למטייל בו שיעור קצר בהישרדות במקומות מרוחקים ונידחים, מרחק מציוויליזציה ושקט מהמין האנושי.
טוב נו, לא ממש. טוב נו, אז זה נראה כמו טיול שנתי. אבל זה עדיין ממש יפה.

אזור יפהפה שנמצא מצפון לאייבל טזמן. העיירה המרכזית שם נקראת טקקה (Takaka) והיא לא יותר מכפר קטן וחביב של שלושה רחובות. הרבה אמנים ואנשי רוח התיישבו באזור מה שנותן אווירה ייחודית. אני חזרתי לשם פעמיים במהלך הטיול שלי.

איזו עיירה קסומה. יושבת לה על שפת אגם, פסגות מושלגות מסביבה, טרקים מתחילים ונגמרים כמעט על כל קילומטר של הכבישים שמובילים אליה. כל כך כיף, כל כך שקט, פסטורלי. אחד מאותם מקומות שגורם לך לתהות על עצם מציאות קיומו בעולם ועל עצם מציאות קיומך.

אחד הסיפורים העצובים לגבי הרוב רוי (טרק שמח וטוב לב כשלעצמו) היא דרך הגישה אליו.
נסע עבדכם הנאמן ברכבו השכור עם שני שותפיו לטרק כאשר הוא מתעלל בלא הבחנה במנוע המתאבק באבק (הה הה) ומרשים את נוסעיו ברמות טורים שטרם נרשמו (היה בוץ). מחוייכים הגענו לנקודה אש

גם כן טרק שיוצא מוואנאקה. כשמגיעים לפסגה ישנו צוק קטן שעליו אפשר לעמוד, לפרוש ידיים ולהבריח קיאות בצריחה: ''I`m the king of the world''.

אלנ`ס ביץ`. נמצא בחצי האי אוטגו. כדי להגיע אליו צריך לנסוע לפורטובלו ולפנות ימינה איפה שיש שלט. אל תדאגו, כבר גילו אותו לפניכם. יש שם כלבי ים, פינגווינים וחוף שבשבילי תמיד תהיה שמורה פינה בלב בשבילו.
