Day 1
Toronto - Algonquin Provincial Park via Hwy 11 and Hwy 60. It`s a 3-hour drive. Hwy 60 is one of the most scenic drives in Ontario and it runs through Algonquin Park. Take a map and a list of the hikes from the park officer at the park gate and take a few according to your physical conditions. The sunset is the best time to take pictures. You can sleep in the area. If you don`t like camping, lots of lodging choices are available along the highway close to the park.
Day 2.
Algonquin Park to Ottawa via Hwy 60.
Four hours of a very scenic drive. There are many rest areas along the way with lakes and sandy beaches, but probably October is late for swimming.
In Ottawa visit:
Parliament Building (free tours(
Museum of Civilization (across the river, in Gatineau)
Royal Muzeum of Nature - a must, if you have kids or interested in dinosaurs.
Gatineau Park - if you want to take more fall shots.
Day 3
Ottawa
Day 4
Ottawa to Mont-Trembant
The village is heavilly commercialized, but the nature around is still good. If you have the feeling the you still didn`t get enough from the fall colours, visit Parc du Mont Tremblant, 10 minutes drive from the village. It`s one of the best parks in Central Canada.
Day 5
Mont-Tremblant to Ville de Quebec
The remainder of the day stroll up and down the Old City. If you`ve never being to Europe before, this would look like Europe.
Day 6
Quebec, Canyon Ste-Anne.
A great canyoun with a waterfalls half an hour from Quebec. Also you can visit some of the small towns around and take a cruise on St. Lawrence river.
Day 7
Quebec to Montreal
Day 8
Montreal
Day 9
Montreal to Toronto
Stop at 1000 Islands for a 2-hour cruise from Cananoque or Kingston.
Day 10
Niagara Falls.
