Many jeeps in the Bolivian Salar de Uyuni are very dangerous. Check very carefully before agreeing to go in one.
Ours from Colque Tours in Uyuni in Feb 2008 had very bad steering and no lights. Others had bad brakes or faulty wipers and many had bald tyres. We nearly crashed a few times and the tragic accident that happened there last week sadly didn't surprise us
